Military Obstacles: Eastern European buildings

The Eastern European buildings are provisioned by the good folks at Hovels Ltd care of their Eastern European / Russian 28mm range. Hovels make honest good value products. Long may they pour their resin ... or whatever they do.

One each of the eight buildings on offer has been acquired and all but one of the ruined buildings are currently table ready. Someone really should sort that one remaining ruined building! In a fit of enthusiasm all of the buildings have been based.

Pigmenting, basing etc by von Peter himself excepting the painting of the test / experimental building pigmented by The son and heir. Paint recipe developed by The son & heir who was was given parameters of the desired outcome. Nothing too complex or taxing for the pigmenter.

The bigger buildings ...

Timbered Church

What self respecting village would be without its Orthodox church? So a church was obtained.

But not all villages are as wealthy as others and do you have any idea of the cost of a a gold dome? Green seemed to be a good patriotic colour ... and could be got for a very good price. So a green dome it is.

Longhouse / meeting house

The big house or the administration building. Take your pick.

The medium sized buildings ...

Two large log houses

Two variations on the theme of a large log house. There should be three large log houses. That ruined one remains in the unpigmented pile. Yet more shame!

Choose your favourite - planked roof or thatched.

And the smaller sized buildings ...

Three log houses

All three versions of the log houses are available for presentation. Planked roof, thatched or ruined. The thatched building was painted by The son & heir whilst deriving the painting recipe.
