von Peter himself

Post-mortems

An occasional series chronicling the masterstrokes of von Peter himself on the gaming table or, alternatively, illustrating how the fickle Gods of dice, cards, luck etc can work against even the most brilliant tabletop general to leave him fleeing the battlefield in utter defeat. Again. Sob!

The last few years have witnessed von Peter himself publishing his battle memoires over on his blog. Decisions have yet to be made on whether to bring them over here. It may be that a link is provided to each of below so that they are at least centrally catalogued.

Earlier battle memoires were published on the original von Peter's Wargaming Madness website. Along with that website these have been lost to the vagaries of technology companies and their ever changing road maps to the future. This all seems such a great shame considering the epoch of gaming they reported upon ... and the effort that went into creating them! So some of those reports will be recreated here for the edification and reading pleasure of any who visit here.

Napoleonic Memoires

Traditionally Napoleonic wargaming is one of the more poplular wargaming periods with its heady mix of colourful uniforms, colourful characters and a plethora of figures available.

The number of Napoleonic armies that von Peter himself collects betrays some sort of deep psychological disturbance. But putting that aside it also goes some way to explain why Napoleonic gaming gets the lions share of hobby time for von Peter himself.

The more astute reader will note the number of rulesets used over the years. The search for the perfect set of rules is a never ending journey. And sometimes it's just refreshing to play a different style of rules.
